PayPal Payments

PayPal is a payment processor that allows you to securely accept payments from your website. Your website visitors can pay using a credit card, debit card, or PayPal account. To receive payments, you need a free PayPal Business account.

Note: A ‘Personal’ PayPal account will not work.

When a visitor makes a purchase or donation you’ll receive the funds instantly. We don't take any cut of any of your sales but PayPal does charge a minimal processing fee.

For sales with a credit card within the US the fees are as follows:

  • Sales over $12: 2.59% + $0.49 per transaction
  • Sales under $12 with a micropayment account: 4.99% + $0.09 per transaction

For sales where your customer chooses the PayPal Account payment option, fees are as follows:

  • Sales over $12: 3.59% + $0.49 per transaction

To learn more about your region merchant fees, please refer to the Merchant Fees Statement from PayPal.

How to connect PayPal to receive payments:

  1. In your Bandzoogle control panel, click on ‘Selling tools’
  2. In the list of options on the left, click on ‘Settings’
  3. In the ‘Settings’ pane on the left, click ‘Payment settings’
  4. Select the ‘Currency’ in which you’d like to receive payments
  5. Select the ‘Country’ where your store is based
    • Note: This is used to distinguish between local and international orders.
  6. Click ‘Connect to PayPal’
  7. In the pop-up PayPal screen, Enter your PayPal email address and your Country or region
    • Note: This must be the email address you use to log in to your PayPal account, not a username.
  8. Follow the prompts to login to your PayPal account
  9. In the permissions section, click ‘Agree and Connect’
  10. Click ‘Go back to Bandzoogle, Inc.’

After you click save you can immediately begin receiving payments through PayPal.

From the ‘Payment Settings’ tab you can Edit, Disable, or Disconnect your PayPal account at any time.

Notes:

How to update your payment settings to use the improved PayPal integration

As of October 1, 2021, we’ve updated our PayPal integration to work with the improved PayPal Business solution. With this updated integration, you can:

  • Offer your customers a seamless checkout
  • Improve your store’s conversion rate
  • Experience fewer failed payments

To use the updated integration, you will need to re-authorize your PayPal Business account to use Bandzoogle in your website store:

  1. In your Bandzoogle control panel, click on ‘Selling tools’
  2. In the list of options on the left, click on ‘Settings’
  3. In the ‘Settings’ selections, click ‘Payment Settings’
  4. In the PayPal box, click ‘Update’
  5. This will open a PayPal modal window, prompting you through the steps to reauthorize PayPal in your website store
  6. Enter your PayPal email address and password
  7. Choose the second option: use your PayPal account primarily for business or organization
  8. Re-enter your PayPal email address and password
  9. Confirm that you want to allow Bandzoogle to connect to your PayPal account
  10. This will bring you back to your website. If you check your Payment settings, you should see a merchant id plus associated email address in the PayPal section.

Once you have re-authorized Bandzoogle to process payments with PayPal, you’ll be using the updated integration on your Store. You can continue to accept PayPal, or direct credit cards when making sales.

Note: if you are clicking on the ‘Update’ button and having issues, please check to be sure any pop-up blockers are disabled.

PayPal is not currently supporting shipping settings with the new integration, and may also eventually discontinue their existing shipping settings.

PayPal’s integrated taxation is also no longer available with the new integration. If you would like to add tax to your store items, please see options here: Adding sales tax.
