With our Store feature you can sell all sorts of merch. If you’d like to add sales tax to your Store items you have a few options.

Adding a Store item

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. Select the ‘Store’ feature and use the placement arrows to set the feature’s location
  4. Click ‘Add Product’
  5. Next to ‘Type’, select ‘Product/Service’ from the drop-down
  6. Enter the product information

  7. Next to ‘TaxJar Category’, select your item tax type

    Note: Use this option only if you have set up your TaxJar account using the steps in the next section.

  8. Click ‘Save’

Adding tax using TaxJar

TaxJar is an optional, external service that makes sales tax filing easier for online sellers. Starting at $99 per month, TaxJar will automate your sales tax calculations, reporting, and filings.

PART 1

  1. Sign up for a TaxJar account
  2. Copy the ‘Live Token’ under ‘SmartCalcs API Token’

PART 2

  1. In your Bandzoogle control panel, click on ‘Selling tools’
  2. In the list of options on the left, click on ‘Settings’
  3. In the ‘Settings’ menu, click on ‘Taxes’
  4. Click ‘Connect to TaxJar’
  5. Paste your ‘Live Token’ into the TaxJar API token field
  6. Click ‘Save settings’

You can also connect to TaxJar in any ‘Store’ feature on your Bandzoogle website. To connect to TaxJar within a ‘Store’ feature, follow these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab in your Bandzoogle account, click the ‘Store’ feature
  2. Select the ‘Tax settings’ tab from the settings pane on the left
  3. Click ‘Connect TaxJar’
  4. Paste your ‘Live Token’ into the TaxJar API token field
  5. Click ‘Save settings’

PART 3

  1. From your store item page, next to ‘TaxJar Category’, select your item tax type
  2. Click ‘Save’

TaxJar Resources

Note: An API is a chunk of code from one website that allows you to integrate their service on external websites. TaxJar's API allows us to use data from your account there to generate sales tax without having to leave your website, making the checkout process easier for your customers.

Adding tax manually

The Bandzoogle store does not include a manual taxation field. If you’d like to add tax to your products without using TaxJar, you can increase the prices on store items to cover the tax rate. Bandzoogle cannot offer legal tax advice, so it’s best to contact your local tax professional if you have any questions on taxation rates and laws in your area.
