The Billboard template is one of our most flexible website templates. It has a lot of design controls to help you get the look you want, but also looks amazing even if you don’t customize it at all! Here are some of the reasons Billboard may be the template for your band:
Three great design choices to get you started
There are three variations of the Billboard template for you to choose from - a clean and light design, a more playful and colorful version, and a minimal darker style. So no matter the vibe you’re going for, we have you covered.
The dark variation uses a more ‘serif’ font as the default, and overall would work great with a darker more ‘ambient’ image.
The light version is brighter, but with more contrast as it uses darker accents, like the title or menu background.
The more colorful version utilizes text background colors, so a dense or filtered image will pop more.
Of course, this template is fully customizable, so you can pick any variation and run with it. Billboard also comes with a fully responsive header, so whatever image you add will adapt easily to different screen sizes.
Design your header options
The Billboard template has quite a lot of customizable header options, including a full width background that appears behind your site title or logo, but overlays your header image.
You can easily change the color of this background, as well as adjust its transparency (even to fully transparent, so the background doesn’t display at all) so you can provide a solid graphical impact for your visitors, while matching your custom style.
Unique menu choices
Billboard also provides a lot of design control over the site menu, which appears at the bottom of the header space. Like the header title background, the menu bar can have its color and transparency adjusted behind the menu text, with the bar appearing over top the header image.
The menu for this template can be set as ‘full width’, so the menu text will always be close to the sides of the header area. This is really nice when you have a lot of pages on your site, as it spaces the text out more evenly with less clutter.
But if you need, you can also disable the full width menu option, so your menu text doesn’t exceed the width of your page content - this looks really great when you’re co-ordinating the menu bar color with the title bar color above it.
As well, you can adjust the ‘menu bottom spacing’, so you can add shorter or higher space between the menu and page content area. This lets you better position the menu over your header image, so it displays clearer with the picture.

Ready, set, call to action
Billboard is also designed so you can add a call-to-action header feature to any of the variations. A good call to action on your page is great for promoting a new album or getting people to sign up to your mailing list, and the Billboard feature tucks in nicely under your title text or logo.
This keeps more focus on your brand and band name, while tying your call to action in with it. And while the Billboard call-to-action has lots of choices for color and opacity, you can also set horizontal or vertical justification for this feature in the header area.
The alignment options you set in the call to action feature will also be applied to your site title, so no matter what’s in your header imagery, you’ll be able to place your title and call to action in just the right spot, without blocking a lot of the important graphic elements of your header.
Your pages, your way
It’s always important to remember that with website design, keeping your layouts and design relatively simple and minimal as possible is the way to go. For example, do remember to maintain a fair amount of contrast between font colors and your content background color no matter what variation you select.
