Is your band branching out and trying to book festivals and shows out of town? Creating an electronic press kit to showcase your music and your online presence has never been more important. It’s also never been easier than with Bandzoogle’s preset EPK template.
Let’s face it - coming up with content ideas when you’d rather be plotting out melodies and ruminating on lyrics can be challenging. But once you’re out on the road playing live, your bandmates will thank you.
An EPK is essential for musicians
Why do you need an electronic press kit anyways? Can’t you just shoot an email with a few song links to a venue? You can, but if you want to come across as organized and professional, a page with dedicated press kit elements is the way to impress bookers.
Your website itself can be catered to your fans. Engage them with upcoming news, add photos, and upload new music regularly. Then devote a page on your website to your EPK which will focus more on the needs of the media, or a potential venue booker.
Let’s take a look at how to create an organized and attractive EPK for your band website.
What to include in your EPK
You’ll want to include only relevant information in your band’s press kit. This means fitting as much onto one page as you can, while still having it look tidy. It’s easier than it sounds!
Start out by gathering what you’ll need:
A quote: Something that describes your sound, or your draw - from the media, or a previous booker.
A bio: Write a sentence or two about yourself, including your current achievements. If you have several versions of your bio ready to go (bloggers, festivals, or a house concert host may have different needs), add a File List feature with different downloadable pdfs ranging in length.
Music: Select your best tracks, just a few.
Photos: Add hi-resolution images. Be sure to offer a variety of options, from live shots to posed band pictures. Have a few different sizes as well (landscape, portrait, and square).
Video: Choose your very best video, keeping in mind it may be re-used online to show what your band is like.
Contact: Make it easy for a media person or booker to reach you.
Social media: Add your social media icons for the platforms you’re most active on, limited to 3 or 4.

How to build your EPK from a template
Now that you have all of the content you need, it’s easy to create an EPK in just a few clicks.
As a starting point, use our preset EPK page template to get everything onto the page in an aesthetically pleasing and organized way. You can also rearrange columns and features, add sections with titles, and adjust background colors or images.
To do this, click Add Page. Choose the Electronic Press Kit option, update the title if you want (EPK works too), and then create your page.
You’ll see features nicely laid out in columns for you, including a place to put a quote at the top, followed by an image and text feature. Next is a spot for downloadable hi-res photos, then a place for a sample track and video. Last of all is a contact form for inquiries.
Pop your content into place and your electronic press kit is ready! You can send it out to potential venues, house concert hosts, festival organizers, or the media. It’s a quick and effective online resume for your band, and a must-have in order to book more shows.
Don’t want your EPK to show up as part of your website? Not to worry, you can set this page as ‘not in menu’ - meaning a direct link is needed to see it. You can also remove your main menu from the EPK page, making it look more like a true one sheet.

Keep your EPK current
Be sure to review your EPK from time to time, swapping out old material. If you release a new album, add that single as one of your selected tracks. Got a new video that’s done really well or looks really good? Place that on the page instead of your current video. You want to be sure industry, media, and talent buyers are seeing you at your most recent, with your best foot forward.
