In an age where digital media is consumed more than ever on mobile, a responsive website is a must have for any musician. This means all of the design elements should be fluid and scale to size on every device.
The experience presented by your music website should be enjoyable for fans, wth your colors, sections, and branding all encouraging a next step of buying merch or listening to a new song.
All of the Bandzoogle website templates are mobile-ready without any extra tweaks. And now, your website has more mobile customization options than ever with the launch of device dependent title and logo controls in the Edit Theme tab.
Ready to take your website design to the next level with a custom band logo for mobile? Here’s how.
Adjusting your Site Title
The Site Title refers to your artist name, or band name, which will appear in text over your website design. It’s often placed in the top left corner, or in the middle of your header image, depending on the theme you’ve chosen. You can think of this like a text-based logo, and use a stylized font to really make your band name stand out.
Once you’ve added your artist name in text, look under the Title/Logo controls in your Edit Theme tab. Click the Site title font drop down, then toggle on “Custom Mobile Size” and adjust the font size of your Site Title for tablet and mobile display.
You’ll want to make sure the text is large enough to be easy to read, but not so large that it obstructs the view of your header image. The sizing and placement of your header image is important to consider here as well, especially for themes where the title displays over it.
To see how your changes are looking, switch between views in the top right corner by clicking on the tablet or phone icon. Then adjust the corresponding Tablet and Mobile font size sliders. The font size number you choose will vary depending on the font you’ve selected, but as a starting point try setting your tablet size to approximately 65px and then around 35px for mobile.
This should give you a proportionally sized title that will be visible without distracting from the rest of your header image.

Adjusting your Band Logo
Instead of a text title, you can upload a logo in its place. A logo is a great way to visually give your band some memorable branding. You can also use your same logo on your band merch, making it easy to create shirts, hoodies, and more that fans easily recognize.
Just like with the Site Title, you can use the Tablet and Mobile font size sliders to adjust how your band logo appears on other devices. You’ll see a live preview of your website on the right as you make your adjustments, so you can gauge what a good custom size will be.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when creating a logo:
- Use a PNG image file with a transparent background. A logo with a transparent background will flow better with the rest of your band website design, giving it a more professional look.
- A logo should blend in with your overall website design and branding. This gives your visitors a sense of who you are as a musician, without being too distracting from your Homepage’s call-to-action or content.
- As a starting point, try setting your logo size to approximately 50% on tablet and 70% on mobile. Then adjust to get the look that best matches your header.

Make a final check on each device
Now that you’ve customized your title or logo size for mobile, run a quick check to see how it looks on each different device by using the desktop, tablet and mobile icons found in the top right of your Edit Theme tab. You can also save your theme, and then visit your website on your tablet or phone to see the new sizing options in action.
Your site’s title or logo is now fully optimized for any screen size your fans may be viewing it from. This will make sure that your brand is always best represented, no matter how your fans are accessing your content.
Responsive design is a best practice for all websites, and we’re so thrilled to roll out this update which will help your music website look its best.
