How to add the ‘Poll’ feature to your website

A poll is a great way to engage your fans and gain feedback. Here’s how to add the ‘Poll’ feature to your website:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. Select the ‘Poll’ feature from the ‘Feedback Tools’ area
  4. Use the placement arrows on that page to set the ‘Poll’ feature’s location
  5. In the feature options, add a question in the ‘Question’ field
  6. In the ‘Options’ column, add the possible answers to the poll question in the text field. Each time you add a new option, a new row will populate.
  7. Best practice: Add up to 5 ‘Options’ and ensure your ‘Options’ are clear, appropriate answers to your poll ‘Question’
  8. If you already have responses to your ‘Question’ from other sources, you can manually add the number of votes in the ‘Votes’ column. Otherwise, leave this at 0. When you get responses on your website, the ‘Votes’ will automatically tally.
  9. Click ‘Save’

Once you add the ‘Poll’ feature to your website, visitors will see a ‘Question’ and multiple choice ‘Options’ followed by ‘Vote’ and ‘View Results’ buttons. The ‘Poll’ feature also offers a quick ‘Share’ button so you can share it directly to Facebook, Twitter, via Email, or anywhere with a direct link.

How to see the results of your ‘Poll’

You can view the results of your ‘Poll’ directly on your website by clicking ‘View Results,’ which will reveal a graph with the tally of ‘Question’ responses. To see the results from your control panel, follow these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page you’ve added the ‘Poll’ feature
  2. Click on the ‘Poll’ feature on your page
  3. The ‘Poll’ feature will show you the following:
    • The ‘Question’ name
    • A list of your ‘Options’ with the tally of responses
    • The total number of responses
    • The date your poll was added

How to edit the ‘Poll’ feature

If you’d like to adjust or add an ‘Option’ to your ‘Poll’ feature, you can do so from your ‘Edit Content’ control panel. To edit your ‘Poll’ feature, follow these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page you’ve added the ‘Poll’ feature
  2. Click on the ‘Poll’ feature on your page
  3. Beneath your ‘Poll’ question, click ‘Edit Poll’
  4. Update your ‘Question’ text or, add a new ‘Poll’ option
  5. Click ‘Save’
