Use the ‘My Sites’ feature to add links to your social media profiles and allow fans to follow updates outside of your website. If you’re also selling music on other sites you can link to those platforms as well. There are two versions of the ‘My Sites’ feature:

  • Site-wide: Displays the buttons on each page of your website, in a specific location (in the header or footer section, as determined by the site’s template)
  • Per-page: Allows you to place the buttons on any single page, within its content area

How to add the ‘My Sites’ feature on a single page

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. In the the ‘Basic Features’ section of the list, select the ‘My Sites’ feature
  4. Use the placement arrows to set the feature’s location
  5. In the feature, choose a site from the drop-down menu
  6. Enter the URL for your profile on that website
    • The address bar will auto-populate the first part of the URL. You would typically need to enter only your username. Example: https://instagram.com/username
    • For some sites, you will want to copy and paste the direct url to your profile. For instance, Spotify’s links will look like a string of numbers and letters after the main domain, like this: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7gqsi6aBSkRMJoL9psKqMr?si=WwLveEl-T0iHkdOYMTN2pQ
  7. Click ‘Add Site’
  8. Repeat these steps for each new site button you’d like to add
  9. In the ‘Display Options’ choose from the following
    • Use the slider to adjust the Size
    • Alignment; Left, Center, Right
    • Shape; Icon, Circle, Square
    • Color;
      • Theme button color - controlled by your 'Edit Theme' options
      • Site brand color - colors of the social media sites
      • Black
      • White
      • Custom - Choose a custom color from the palette selector
  10. Click ‘Save’

How to add social media and music store buttons to your ‘Site-wide My Sites’

The site-wide ‘My Sites’ feature is available for most (but not all) of our templates. Some of our templates display the ‘Site-wide My Sites’ buttons in the header area, while others display them in the footer of the website.

For templates that offer the ‘Site-wide My Sites’ feature, the feature will be added to the site by default. If this option was not selected, you can add this feature with the following steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Add feature’
  2. In the the ‘Site-Wide’ section of the list, select the ‘My Sites’ feature
  3. Click the ‘Add new site’ button
  4. Choose a site from the drop-down menu
  5. Enter the URL for your profile on that website
    • The address bar will auto-populate the first part of the URL. You would typically need to enter only your username. Example: https://instagram.com/username
  6. Click ‘Save’
  7. Repeat these steps for each new site button you’d like to add

Note:

  • Your ‘Site-wide My Sites’ will adopt the options you set for your theme. To change this, head to ‘Edit Theme’ and scroll to the ‘Site-wide My Sites’ options.
  • To remove the ‘Site-wide My Sites’ feature, hover your cursor over the feature on any page in the ‘Edit Content’ tab, and click the trash icon that appears in the top right corner of the feature.

Generic buttons

If the sites you want to link to aren’t listed, choose from the ‘Generic Buttons’ options. We’ll generate a generic icon when you select the following:

  • Music
  • Phone contact
  • Podcast
  • Podcast microphone
  • RSS
  • Social
  • Store
  • Tickets

Best practices:

  • Although we have over 46 site selections, we recommend limiting the buttons to 4-6 of the sites you use most.
  • Selling from multiple websites (e.g. Amazon, iTunes, etc.) gives fans several options to buy from you. No other option is more important, though, than selling from your website. It’s the most convenient way for fans to make a purchase while on your site, and we don’t take a cut of your sales!
