A ‘Landing page’ is a way for musicians to focus marketing efforts on a specific goal. Add an Email opt-in ‘Landing page’ to your website to collect email addresses and build your fanbase.

How to add the Email opt-in Landing page

The Email opt-in page template is a pro feature. To add an Email opt-in ‘Landing page’ to your website, follow these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’
  2. Select ‘Add a page’
  3. In the ‘Page types’ area, click on ‘Landing page templates’
  4. From the dropdown options, select ‘Email opt-in’
  5. Name your page in the ‘Title’ field (defaults to ‘Email opt-in’ if unchanged)
  6. Adjust your ‘Menu settings’
    • Note: If you’d like to use this page exclusively as a promotional link, select ‘Not in menu’ and it will not appear in your website’s main menu. You can still provide the page url to your fans.
  7. Adjust your ‘Page options.’ To learn more about ‘Page options,’ please read the ‘Adding Pages’ help article.
  8. Click ‘Create my page’

How to customize your mailing list signup form

The ‘Mailing list signup form’ will sit at the top of your ‘Email opt-in’ landing page. To customize the display options, by adding your own personalized message, follow these steps:

  1. On your ‘Email opt-in’ landing page, click on the ‘Mailing list signup form’ to open the feature options
  2. In the ‘Signup options’ area, use the toggle to enable the following settings:
    • Automatically add new members to a group: Toggle on if you want those signing up to the mailing list signup form on this page to be added to a specific group.
      • If toggled on, select the group from the dropdown or click ‘New group’ to add a new group.
    • Give a free download on signup: The site member will receive the selected track, album, or file download after they click the confirmation link in the verification email sent after sign up.
      • Allows you to provide any track, album, or file download already uploaded through to your website.
  3. the ‘Display options’ area, adjust the following:
    • Title: Add a short title that invites fans to sign up for your mailing list
    • Description: Add a description with the benefits of subscribing to your newsletter. If you are offering a free track or other file in exchange for a mailing list signup, describe what they will be receiving for signing up
  4. Click ‘Save’

Note: The mailing list signup form requires two-factor authentication from your fan. To add a disclaimer about two-factor authentication, please review the following section.

How to populate your text feature

The ‘Text’ feature on the Email opt-in Landing page is the perfect place to add a disclaimer about your mailing list activity, including the frequency of newsletters, protecting member’s data, and how the member is required to confirm their subscription before they start receiving newsletters and their free download.

To populate your text feature, follow these steps:

  1. Below your ‘Mailing list signup form,’ hover over the text feature and click ‘Edit text’
  2. Highlight the automatic text and start typing the new text you wish to appear
  3. Use the text feature styling options to customize your text
  4. Click ‘Save’

How to exchange a file in your mailing list signup form

If you’d like to offer fans an incentive to sign up for your mailing list, exchanging an upcoming single, album artwork, or exclusive b-sides is a great idea. To enable this option, follow these steps:

  1. On your ‘Email opt-in’ Landing page, click on the ‘Mailing list signup form’ to open the feature options
  2. In your ‘Signup options’ area, toggle on ‘Give a free download on signup
  3. Click on the dropdown menu to reveal the files or music available for download
  4. Select the file or music you want to offer in exchange for an email address
  5. Click ‘Save’

Note: When you add music to your website, the settings you’ve applied will be saved in the music feature. You can reuse tracks throughout your website, and they will retain the same settings. If you want to change the settings of a track, create a new track or single to apply distinct settings.

How to add files or tracks to your website to use on your Email opt-in page

In order to provide a file or music to fans in exchange for signing up to your mailing list, the file or music needs to be added to your site first. If you are offering an exclusive download, adding a hidden page is the best way to secure exclusive access.

To create a hidden page on your website, follow these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’
  2. Select ‘Add a page’
  3. Select the ‘Blank page’ page type
  4. Give your page a ‘Title’
  5. In the ‘Menu settings’ options, select ‘Not in menu’
  6. In the ‘Page options,’ toggle off the ‘Visibility’
  7. In the ‘Access’ options, select ‘Anyone with a password.’ In the password field, add a password. This ensures your page will be extra secure
  8. Click ‘Create my page’

On your newly created hidden page, follow these steps to add the file or music download you want to exchange with your new mailing list signups.

  1. Click ‘Add feature’
  2. Choose a Music feature or the ‘File List’ feature
  3. Use the placement arrows on that page to set the feature’s location
  4. Add your file or music to your feature of choice
