Links direct visitors to other pages on your website, or to external websites. You can also link to a file or email address. This is a great way to make navigating your website easier for visitors.

Text Feature

How to add links using the Text feature:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. Select ‘Text’ and use the placement arrows to set the feature’s location
  4. In the text editor type the word or phrase you’d like to link, highlight it, and click the link icon in the feature’s toolbar
  5. Select the link type in the ‘Link to’ dropdown
    • An external page: Directs the visitor to a page that is not on your website
      • Enter the URL for the external site to which you want visitors directed
      • Check the ‘Open in new window’ option so browsers will keep your website tab open while they visit the external page
    • One of my pages: Directs the visitor to a page on your website
      • Select the site page from the Page drop-down menu
    • A file: Automatically downloads a file to your visitor’s computer
    • An email address: Opens the visitor’s default email program so they can send you an email

      Note: If the visitor is using an online email program such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc. this link will not work. We advise not using this linking option, and instead to use the Custom Form feature.

    • One of my albums: Directs the visitor to your album page

      • Select the desired album from the ‘Album’ drop-down menu
    • One of my tracks: Directs the visitor to one of your audio tracks
      • Select the desired track from the ‘Track’ drop-down menu
  6. Click ‘OK’

Image and Text Feature

How to add links from the Image and Text feature:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. Select ‘Image and Text’ and use the placement arrows to set the feature’s location

The Image and Text feature is two features combined into one. There are link options for both the image and text components. For the text option, please use the instructions above (How to add links from the Text feature, starting with step 3).

How to link the image in the Image and Text feature:

  1. In the image section of the Image and text feature, upload an image
  2. Click ‘Link (none)’
  3. In the Link box, select the link type from the drop-down list of options
    • No link: The image will not be clickable
    • An external page: Directs the visitor to a page that is not on your website
      • Enter the URL for the external site to which you want visitors directed
      • Check the ‘Open in new window’ option so visitors will keep your website tab open while they visit the external page
    • One of my pages: Directs the visitor to a page on your website
      • Select the site page from the Page drop-down menu
    • A file: Downloads a file onto your visitors computer
      • Upload the file from your computer or import it from your Dropbox.com account
      • Choose an existing file (Select this option for a file already uploaded to your account. Files are stored in the File manager.
    • An email address: Opens the visitor’s default email program so they can send you an email

      Note: If the visitor is using an online email program such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc. this link will not work. It’s advised to not use this linking option, and instead to use the Custom Form feature.

    • One of my albums: Directs the visitor to your album page

      • Select the desired album from the ‘Album’ drop-down menu
    • One of my tracks: Directs the visitor to one of your audio tracks
      • Select the desired track from the ‘Track’ drop-down menu
  4. Click ‘OK’

Image Feature

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. Select ‘Image’ and use the placement arrows to set the feature’s location
  4. Follow the steps above under ‘How to link the ‘Image’ in the Image and Text feature (they are the same for the Image feature)

Button Feature

The ‘Button’ feature allows you to link to an external site, your own website pages, or a Music feature on your site in a stylish button appearance. To add a link in a ‘Button’ feature, follow these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. Select the ‘Button’ feature
  4. Use the placement arrows on that page to set the button location
  5. In the ‘Button’ feature, select your ‘Button’ options
    • Button text
      • Add text that will appear inside your button
    • Link type (external page, one of my pages, track, or an email address)
      • External page: add a direct url to an external website
      • One of my pages: choose your own page to redirect to from the dropdown
      • Track: choose a track from your dropdown
      • An email address: add an email address to contact
    • Open in new window (toggle on for ‘yes’)
    • Display options
      • Width (fit to button text, fit to column)
      • Alignment (left justified, centered, right justified)
      • Size (small, medium, large, extra large)
      • Top and bottom spacing (small, medium, large, extra large, custom)
  6. Click ‘Save’

Navigation Menu

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’
  2. Click ‘Add a page’
  3. Next to ‘Page type’ click ‘More page types’
  4. Select ‘External link’
  5. Enter the URL for the external site to which you want visitors directed
  6. Click ‘Create my page’

Note: This option is not available for pages that have already been created. If you’d like to set up a link to an external website on an existing page, you’ll first need to change the name of your existing page, or delete the existing page, then create a new page with the page name you’d like to use.
