Selling gift cards is a great way for fans to support musicians in tangible ways. Try adding gift cards to your store, then promote them to encourage sales going towards music lessons, merch, and more. Gift cards are available on the Pro plan, and can be redeemed against any product in your store, giving fans lots of options to choose from.

Adding ‘Gift cards’ to your store

Your fans can buy a gift card for themselves, or send it along to a recipient once the card has been received. Once purchased, a unique code will be sent to your purchaser that is redeemable against items in your website store.

To add gift cards to your Bandzoogle store, follow these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. Select the ‘Store’ feature and use the placement arrows to set the feature’s location
  4. Click ‘Add Product’
  5. In the ‘Add new product’ area, select ‘Gift card’ from the ‘Product type’ drop-down options
  6. Product name: enter the name that will appear next to your product. Use the words ‘Gift card’ in your product name to differentiate the item
  7. Description: Enter a description of what the customer will receive when they purchase a gift card item.
  8. Image: Upload an image from your computer.
  9. Status: select the availability of your gift card product
    • Available: Item will display for sale on your website.
    • Not available: Item will display on your website but will include a ‘Not available’ note below the image.
    • Hidden: Allows you to add the item on your Bandzoogle account but won’t display on your website until you set it to ‘available’.
  10. Pricing:
    • Price and gift card value: Enter the gift card value. The price to purchase a gift card will dictate the initial amount sent to the recipient
  11. Linking and sharing: Use the toggle to ‘Allow direct linking’ in this section. This will create a ‘Share’ option in your store to generate easy links for social media and email.
  12. Free download: Toggle on ‘Attach a free download’ to include a download with the purchase of a gift card. Select a ‘File or Track’ from the dropdown.
  13. Click ‘Save product’

Managing your ‘Gift cards’

If you’d like to view the status of your ‘Gift cards’ or adjust a purchase, you can head to your ‘Selling Tools’ dashboard. From there, you can see the date sold, the status of the card, the initial amount of the card, and the remaining value.

If you need to make adjustments to issued ‘Gift cards,’ use the following options:

  1. In your Bandzoogle Control Panel, click ‘Selling Tools’ to open the ‘Selling Tools’ Dashboard
  2. In the side panel of options, click ‘Gift cards’
  3. Click on the … symbol next to a listed ‘Gift card’ product and choose from the following options:
    • View: view the transaction details for the ‘Gift card’
    • Resend to purchaser: sends a duplicate of the ‘Gift card’ to the purchaser
    • Revoke: revokes the ‘Gift card’ so that it can no longer be used for purchases on your website

Issuing ‘Gift cards’

If you’d like to send a gift card to a fan, or encourage someone to explore your music further, you can issue a gift card directly. Here’s how:

  1. In your Bandzoogle Control Panel, click ‘Selling Tools’ to open the ‘Selling Tools’ Dashboard
  2. In the side panel of options, click ‘Gift cards’
  3. At the top right corner, click on the ‘Issue gift card’ button
  4. In the pop-up window, add the following details:
    • Recipient email: enter the exact email address of the recipient
    • Initial amount: enter the amount for the card
  5. Click ‘Issue card’

Your fan will receive their gift card via email, with their unique code to use at checkout.

Redeeming ‘Gift cards’

To redeem a ‘Gift Card’ your purchaser will visit your website store, and enter the unique code into the ‘Discount code or gift card’ field on checkout. This will adjust the remaining value reflected on the ‘Gift Card’ in your Selling Tools dashboard.
