This holiday season there’s a lot of focus on helping local businesses, and supporting indie artists goes hand-in-hand with that. With this in mind, gift cards are now available on the Pro plan for musicians to sell to their fans!

Your fans can buy a gift card for themselves, or send it along to a recipient after they complete the checkout. Here’s how to get started selling gift cards in your Bandzoogle store:

Add gift cards to your store

To get started with gift cards, head to your Bandzoogle store. Choose Gift Card as the product type when adding a product, then set the value of the gift card. This will also be the price listed to purchase the card. You can add as many gift cards in different denominations as you’d like.

To make gift card sales as seamless as possible, be sure to use the words ‘Gift Card’ in your product name. Then, add details in the description so your buyers are aware of how the cards can be used, and how much their support means to you.

On your website visitor’s end, they will head to your store, purchase a gift card, and checkout. Once purchased, the card will be sent to the recipient's email. If they want to forward that on to share with a friend or fellow music fan, the gift card can only be redeemed with the enclosed code.

Redeeming a gift card 

Once purchased, your recipient will get an email with a unique code. To redeem the card’s value, they will specify this code on checkout from your website in the ​​discount code/ gift card field.

Issue a gift card

Want to encourage someone to explore your music and content? You can issue a gift card directly from your Selling Tools dashboard in any amount, to a specific recipient's email address. This will send a code to them, which they can use to redeem items in your website store.

Market your gift cards

One benefit to selling gift cards is that it’s a different marketing technique you can use to get people excited to share your music. Once you’ve added gift cards to your store, promote them on your social channels and email newsletter to reach your biggest fans. Encourage them to purchase gift cards this holiday season for that person who is difficult to buy for, and as a means of supporting you.

Manage gift cards in your store

Once you have sold gift cards, head to your Selling Tools dashboard to manage the cards. Here you can view, revoke, or resend the gift card to the purchaser.  If the gift card has been partially used, a note to reflect the remaining amount will appear in the email to your buyer. Once used, you will also be able to see which order was made with a gift card purchase.
