We’re excited to introduce some new image tools that give you even more control over your website’s design!
Header and background images on all responsive themes can now be zoomed in and out, or essentially cropped. You can also set a focal point for these images to make sure that the most important part of the image displays nicely on any mobile device.
These new image controls are easy to use, and can make a huge impact on how images display on your website, giving you a much better result.
Check out this quick tutorial video to see how to use the new image controls:
Cropping your header or background image
To use these new image tools, go to the Edit Content tab and click on CROP. On the next screen, you’ll see 2 new controls to edit your image.
The first is a Zoom control. Use the slider to zoom in or out on your image, which essentially crops out areas of the image that you don’t want to show in your header or background.
You can then click and grab the image to move it into a position where it's cropped how you like, and shows off only the part of the image you’d like to display.

Set a focal point for your image
Once you’ve cropped the image to your liking, it’s time to use the new Focal Point control. By clicking and dragging the blue Focal Point dot, you can make sure that the most important part of your image displays nicely on mobile devices.
If you’re a singer-songwriter, you could set the focal point on yourself, to make sure that fans can see your face when visiting your website from their mobile phone. Or maybe you’re in a metal band and you want to make sure that your drummer isn’t in the header image on mobile devices. Your call, we won’t judge.
Preview your image on mobile devices
To see how your header image looks on mobile devices, just click the preview options above your image. Select the tablet or mobile previews to see how it looks, and if you need to adjust it further, simply go back to the Desktop overview and adjust the focal point accordingly to get it just right.
We hope you enjoy using these new image controls on your website!
