Our mission this year was to help artists earn more revenue. As we combed through sales data from 2020 and made a plan to do just that, we noticed a few trends.
Over the last year, Bandzoogle members have been selling A LOT of merch. In fact, over 70% of all sales made in the first half of this pandemic were band branded physical goods, such as CDs, vinyl, t-shirts, stickers, hoodies, face masks, and more.
As you know, Bandzoogle doesn’t take any commission on your website sales, and we build out tools to facilitate direct-to-fan sales. Most Bandzoogle members do well managing their own procurement, inventory and shipping; we are all about empowering artists to take charge of their own music business.
We also realize that sometimes artists want to streamline that process. Maybe you want to test drive a new offering with little investment into inventory. Maybe you aren’t sure about size mixes and don’t want to end up hanging onto a box of odd sized t-shirts for the next 5 years. Maybe you want to avoid multiple trips to the post office because of a certain global issue. And what about artists who want to earn more passively?
We added the print-on-demand integration with Printful to satisfy just these needs! It has never been easier to offer a wide range of merch and products through your website with little effort. In fact, you can include a mix of your own products, services, Printful swag, digital files, music lessons, or anything you like - all in a single merch store.
In honour of this great new integration, we also wanted to do something to help support our community of musicians. To celebrate our 17th anniversary, Bandzoogle is releasing limited edition merch featuring a logo designed by Canadian illustrator Jacqueline Oakley.
T-shirts, hoodies, and more are available for anyone to buy through our Bandzoogle-powered store. Profits from all sales of this 17th anniversary merchandise will go directly to help the music community.
Canada’s leading music industry charity, Unison Benevolent Fund is a non-profit, registered charity that provides counselling and emergency relief services to the Canadian music community. All proceeds will go to their Emergency Mental Health for the Music Community campaign, with Bandzoogle matching donations up to $5000 CAD.
If you’d like to shop the Bandzoogle 17th anniversary merchandise to support this initiative, head over to the Bandzoogle Store. All sales will be fulfilled by Printful, and the merch will be available until March 31st, 2021. What says rock n' roll better than a flaming skull with she-devils?
And, thanks to lead designer Josh Turner, if you’d like to show your Bandzoogle pride but you’d like something more subdued, we’ll be offering our Bandzoogle logo merch as well. Please feel free to share photos of your new merch with the hashtag #imwiththebandzoogle - we’d love to see it, and to reshare!
