Adding links to your social media profiles allows fans to follow updates outside of your website. If you’re also selling music on other sites you can link to those platforms as well. Links to external platforms can be added through the ‘My Sites’ feature. There are two versions of the ‘My Sites’ feature:

  • Sitewide: Displays the buttons on each page of your website, in a specific location (in the header or footer section, as determined by the site’s template)
  • Per-page: Allows you to place the buttons on any single page, within its content area

How to add social media and music store buttons PER PAGE:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Pages’ and open the page on which you’ll be working
  2. Click ‘Add feature’
  3. In the the ‘Basic Features’ section of the list, select the ‘My Sites’ feature
  4. Use the placement arrows to set the feature’s location
  5. Click the ‘Add new site’ button
  6. Choose a site from the drop-down menu
  7. Enter the URL for your profile on that website

    • The address bar will auto-populate the first part of the URL. You would typically need to enter only your username. Example: https://twitter.com/username
  8. Click ‘Save’

  9. Repeat these steps for each new site button you’d like to add

Per-page ‘My Sites’ button options:

To change your button style:

  • Click the ‘My Sites’ feature from within the ‘Edit Content’ tab
  • Select ‘Options’ from the menu on the left Option types:

The size of the small ‘per page’ buttons can be adjusted using these steps:

  2. Use the slider to adjust ‘Content font’ size.

Note: This will adjust the content font size for all fonts in the content area as well

  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the left-hand pane and Click ‘Save’

The color of the small ‘per page’ buttons can be adjusted using these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Theme’ tab, go to the section style where the ‘per page’ My Sites feature is located (Section style 1, 2, or 3)
  2. Next to ‘Button color’, click the color swatch to change the color
    • Choose a preset color
    • Choose a color from the color selector
    • Enter the hex code for the color you’d like to use

The size and color of the Large and Medium ‘per page’ button options are static in the system and cannot be adjusted.

How to add social media and music store buttons SITEWIDE:

The sitewide ‘My Sites’ feature is available for most (but not all) of our templates. Some of our templates display the sitewide My Sites buttons in the header area, while others display them in the footer of the website.

For templates that offer the sitewide ‘My Sites’ feature, the feature will be added to the site by default when you select ‘Social Media Links’ in the trial setup. If this option was not selected, you can add this feature through the following steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click ‘Add feature’
  2. In the the ‘Site Wide’ section of the list, select the ‘My Sites’ feature
  3. Click the ‘Add new site’ button
  4. Choose a site from the drop-down menu
  5. Enter the URL for your profile on that website

    • The address bar will auto-populate the first part of the URL. You would typically need to enter only your username. Example: https://twitter.com/username
  6. Click ‘Save’

  7. Repeat these steps for each new site button you’d like to add

Note: To remove the sitewide ‘My Sites’ feature, hover your cursor over the feature on any page in the ‘Edit Content’ tab, and click the trash icon that appears in the top right corner of the feature.

Best practices:

  • Although we have 44 different site selections, we recommend limiting the buttons to 4-6 of the sites you use most.
  • Selling from multiple websites (e.g. Amazon, iTunes, etc.) gives fans several options to buy from you. No other option is more important, though, than selling from your website. It’s the most convenient way for fans to make a purchase while on your site, and we don’t take a cut of your sales!
