Social sharing + permalinks for events

New addition to the Events feature - now with two clicks, you can share events to Facebook, Twitter, or get an event link to post on other websites.

No matter how you share your event, we use a permanent link (permalink) to the event details page. This link will never change. So your event link will continue to work even if you rename your pages in the future.  

When you share an event to Facebook, your fans will see the event details, the event image you uploaded, and the event description:

Here’s how it works:

  • In your control panel, click on an Event feature

  • Click on the Share button next to any Event

  • Then, select from the following options:

    • Post to Facebook

    • Post to Twitter

    • Share link

For Facebook and Twitter, you'll have to make a one-time connection. After that, you’ll be able to instantly share your events on those social networks.

With the direct link, you can use it in a blog post, send it out through your newsletter (reminder: all Bandzoogle plans include a mailing list!), and post it to any website forums where promoting events is encouraged.

This is great thank you! Is there a way to generate a Facebook Event based on the "share" feature - similar to Artist Data event posting? Also, is there a way to generate listings in local media and and jam band etc...?

Dred I Dread: There's isn't a way to do that right now, but I'll pass along the suggestion. But we are launching an integration with Bandsintown soon and their app does create Facebook events.

I like this feature. However, I don't really care for the fact that I have to accept and allow Bandzoogle access to my facebook friends contact list and information. That's pretty bogus. Therefore, this feature is useless to my band since we don't want to share our fans privacy.

Thanks Dave! If I can replace Artist Data and Reverbnation with bandzoogle that would be awesome. At the moment, I have to post events to 3 locations (bandzoogle site, artist data and reverbnation). If the developers need any additional user feedback, they can always reach out to me.

Great feature! - side note: would be cool to pull Google calendar into the Event calendar. You have a great product and love all the new, dynamic features.

SUNSET STRIP: It's requested by Facebook's API, but we don't actually use the information as per our terms of service, so don't worry, we don't access the friends list.

Ok, if we're using a feed for our dates, like Artistdata, how do we use this feature?

Marci: Artistdata unfortunately stopped updating their product, so we could no longer support the old integration in our new system. So if you're using their widget with the HTML feature, that's all the functionality it will have. These new social sharing options are only included in the Bandzoogle Events feature itself.

That's pretty cool. I'm really hoping, like Dred I Dread said, that I can switch from Reverbnation to Bandzoogle for my e-mail list as if you guys can make it have more features like Reverbnation FanReach that would be great! I've been using it for years, but it's also pretty expensive........I'd LOVE to give Bandzoogle some suggestions on how to make the e-mail system better so more people will want to use it........thanks!

Is there a way to link all of your events to an "event" page on Facebook? I have daily gigs, and posting them individually is both time consuming and annoying to my fans. Some people simply prefer Facebook, so having all my gigs listed (with a link back to my page) could be very beneficial. Thanks!
