As a musician, most of your time is probably spent writing, rehearsing, or promoting your music. With so many marketing tools and tasks to check off your list, especially if you’re self-managed, a website design may fall by the wayside.
Whether you’re wanting to create a design right out of the box and move along with your music, or you want to set up a site with a completely custom look, our Nosi music website template offers a full range of options.
With this new website template, the goal was to create a really open and flexible template that stayed true to the traditional rules of web design while allowing for lots of creative control.
Nosi offers a wide space that feels familiar with a menu across the top, space for a full header, and a band website logo. It’s an all-in-one option for musicians that want to create a new look or refresh their current website before releasing new material.
Let’s take a look at the Nosi template!
Make your artist name stand out
Being active on social media and music streaming services often means that listeners will check out your artist website to learn about you. Make sure they know they’re in the right place by creating a band name that stands out.
The Nosi template includes a customizable text option to create a logo with different fonts, colors, sizing, and placement options. You can also upload your band logo directly. Then create a modern look by choosing an animation option to give your name some eye-catching flair.
Customizable menu options
As a way to ensure your visitors can find what they need, an organized menu with clear page names is essential. The Nosi template features a flexible menu to help you get the look you’d like. Adjust the spacing, place the menu up top or down below your artist name, and adjust the sizing, color, and font of your page names. You can choose to include a menu bar behind your page names, setting the color and opacity, or leave it off so that your page names sit directly against your main image.
If you’d rather separate your menu from the site header, you can choose to place it outside of your main image. Then adjust the hover color option to add a colored square behind the name of the active page.
If you have a menu that includes a lot of content, or you’re offering fan subscriptions with multiple tiers, be sure to customize your sub-menu pages as well.
Page display options for more space
White space, which gives your content more room on the page, is a welcome trend in music website design. Make your website easy to read by adjusting the padding options, leaving extra space above or below your page features. Then adjust the width of the page: you can go full-width so that your content touches both sides of the screen, or leave some space at the edges. Your website will adapt to mobile seamlessly at any width.
Another custom option with the Nosi website theme is to add a page background image. To be sure it doesn’t clash with your content, adjust the image opacity to give your page background a muted look.
The Nosi template works well with sections - another way to further customize your layout! Use styled sections on your website to break up the page flow and place focus on specific elements. Styled sections are especially useful for sharing new music releases, or to create a band’s EPK with a cohesive look.
Sitewide options: music player, social media
Add a sitewide music player to be sure that your music is accessible to website visitors right away. Our Nosi template features a pop-up player that will stream your songs as fans navigate through your pages and content. Customize the background and text color to match your section styles or your band imagery.
You’ll want your fans to be able to connect with you in multiple ways.To achieve this, add your social media and streaming services to this template. If you choose the sitewide option, your icon links will appear over your header image. Choose a display color and hover color, and adjust the sizing so these icon links look just right.
Variations as a springboard
We’ve selected color palettes and coordinated fonts to create four versions of Nosi that will help you get your website design off the ground quickly. You can use any one as a base and then make your design fully unique, using your band photos and text, and then altering the customization options to get a look that suits your sound.
The Playful palette
The playful version of Nosi is just that: from the whimsical cursive title font to accents of electric blue, it’s a standout template that is a great match for DJs, EDM artists, or a primarily pop band. The black content area is simple and lends itself well to a band with loads of content. If you have tons of photos to share, this template will allow them to stand out.
The Elegant version
With a light and bright composition the Elegant version of Nosi is a perfect fit for a country or bluegrass band. Folk musicians will also appreciate the earthy brown tones and white background as complement to story-telling tunes.
A Neutral design
A black menu bar and serif fonts define the neutral version of Nosi. A jazz artist or R&B duo would easily put their own stamp on this version. The content area is white throughout the website, but would lend itself well to stacked sections displaying a music player, news, press photos, and more.
A Sombre style
This variation features classic black and white with crisp, clean lines. A medium blue hue highlights your upcoming events, mailing list sign-up form, and menu buttons. With a simple yet enticing style, the Sombre version is perfect for a classic rock or cover band. To complete this design, use a colorful header image that tells your band’s story.
If you’re looking to use your website as a tool to promote your music online, the Nosi template is a perfect canvas: you can easily create a streamlined design in just a few clicks, or you can fully customize the page options, menu, colors, and more. You can always try out the Nosi website template in your Edit Theme tab and see what you think.
