Building a website for your music is an exciting and challenging undertaking. But, what if your music doesn’t fit into a box? That’s where the Honey template comes in. Honey is a customizable template that looks great with abstract imagery, high concept art, and unique layouts.
Take charge of your musical identity with a stunning, modern website design that catches the eye of industry professionals and fans alike. The Honey template is perfect for launching a new album or a whole career.
Honey features customizable page background images, options for page borders, page alignment variations, and so much more. Here are some of the amazing features of the Honey template.
Play up your imagery
Whether you have a professional band photo or creative album art, the Honey template offers the perfect framing options for your main website image. Your header image can cover just over half of your page height, leading fans to your page content easily. It can also collapse to just a small strip as a teaser for other imagery you might feature on your site. You’ll have a header image with these settings on each page, and you can customize these main images to suit the tone per page.
Another area where you’ll want to feature imagery is your page background. With the Honey template you can upload your own custom image. From there, your content will float over the background as the page is scrolled. You can maximize the border around your content, or move your content to the right or left, to let this image peek through even more. Create a cool effect with this option by featuring the same images in both your header and background, or mix and match photos of your band plus your new single’s artwork.
With the Honey template, your website title (or band logo) sits mid-height, overlaying your main image. Your website title isn’t limited in the space it shares with your main image - you can choose a left, center, or right alignment and use the slider to maximize or minimize the size. These options work especially well if you have a main image that’s more saturated on one side.
Maximize your menu
When you create a music website, having a clear navigation will help your visitors find the content they are looking for. This is especially important if you’re promoting a new album, applying for festivals, or wanting to share your EPK with industry professionals. Honey leads the way with custom menu design options.
Along with options to customize the color of your menu text, you can also customize the background color of the menu. If your main image is busy and eclectic, go for a bold, solid color background so your menu is easily read. If you have a subtle header image that you’d like to shine through as much as possible, use the opacity slider. You can adjust this as you see fit, and if you don’t want your menu to hover over your image, choose the ‘separate navigation’ option to give the menu its own space on your page.
Not only can you customize the color options of your menu, you can also choose the placement and button sizes. The menu button size controls the area around each page’s name in the menu, so if you want to have a menu that has height and wide space between each page name, go for the large sized buttons. Or, try the extra small size for a sleek look.
Connect fans to your music and more
The Honey template features a music player that sits at the bottom right of the page. You can add singles, a full album, or any tracks you love in this player. When visitors head to your site, they can click on the player and start listening to your tunes as they browse your website.
The player will pop up to reveal track details and album art tracks, and will continue playing no matter where they head on your site. You can choose a custom background color for your site-wide player to match your theme’s color palette.
Not only can you add your own music that’s easily accessible on every page, you can also add a site-wide my sites feature to sit at the top of your header image. Add links to your social media, Bandsintown, Spotify, YouTube, and more - when clicked, your fans will be redirected to that social media channel. Your fans can click on these icons from any page on your website, allowing them to get the whole picture of you as a musician.
Let the variations be your guide
All of our templates come with preset variations to get you started. You can apply a variation and get straight to customizing your content, or tweak the colors, fonts, and more to match your aesthetic style. Change your website template at any time to get a new look.
A playful portrayal
Honey’s first template variation frames your content with a solid white border which is complemented by a bold, white site title font. White fonts pop against teal and coral backgrounds to pull focus to your content. This variation lends itself to a pop project that is ready for the main stage.
Noticeable in neutral
The monochrome color palette is anything but one-dimensional. This variation adds a translucent overlay on your page background image so it peeks around the edges of your content. The structural, sans-serif fonts and grayscale color palette are perfect for an experimental ambient musician with abstract imagery.
A sombre style
The sombre variation is fierce and dramatic, with a red, white, and black color scheme. This style separates your navigation from your main header image by default, so your band’s creative imagery can hook visitors right away. A metal band with sombre riffs or a rock-and-roll band with an edge can easily apply this variation for an iconic step into the spotlight.
Elegant energy
The elegant variation is dulcet-toned with cornflower blue content backgrounds and gold highlights. There are some stylish surprises with this variation, like the unique cursive fonts and a custom golden overlay for your main header image. This variation is a great match for a country music or folk artist.
If you’re getting ready to promote your music or band with a website, start with the Honey website template. The stunning variations with highly customizable elements are perfect whether you want to plug and play, or create a website that suits you to a ‘t’.
