New ways to share your music: Facebook, Twitter & embeddable players

New Ways to Share your Music

We've just released new music players for you and your fans to share your music across the web, and on Facebook and Twitter. They are beautifully simple, and highlight your album art.

Here are the details:

Embeddable music player

This option lets you add a player on any website that allows HTML code. The players are responsive, and work great on mobile devices. Check it out:

Embeddable music player

Facebook & Twitter music players

You can also create music players that stream your music directly on Facebook and Twitter. Here's what they look like:

Facebook player

Music player for Facebook

Twitter player

Twitter music player

To create these new players, click the "Share" button beside any track in the music feature of your control panel. Or, fans can create their own by clicking the "share" icon in the track list on your website.

All of the new players have a big button that sends fans to your website where they can learn more about you, or buy your tracks directly (commission free!)

Enjoy!

Hi BZ, these are great. I've been waiting for these to come out and I'm stupidly excited to put them in action. However, one of the perks of the "Pro" plan is the lack of BZ branding. The players are not only branded but linked back to the BZ home page. I love BZ but being able to have consistent branding of my own, void of third party branding, is important to me. It's a big reason why I don't use third party players. Secondly, the link under the song title is the link back to the song or player on our site. It's a lengthy link and not very clean looking. It also doesn't actually go anywhere. The link is shown but when clicked it just starts the player. We end up with an out of place looking link with no functionality. Once the player starts however, our band name is present on the right side of the player and is a link back to our home page. This is great, except it isn't clearly a link. I don't intuitively think, "I should click on that." I think something like TheRaggedFew.com, Our Home Page, or even just - Website. Would be cleaner and more intuitive in both instances. That said, these are awesome and I loooooooove how hard you all work for us. Thank You!

Travis Buster: Joe @ The Ragged Few was talking specifically about the Facebook version of the player and the link that appears under the track name. We're looking into simplifying that now. If there was any other issue, could you email me directly?

This is wonderful! Will it be possible to associate a particular image for each track? All good !!!
Adam
Posted by Adam on Oct 5 2015 7:08 PM
@Ben J. Gross Music & Fine Art - If you're sharing an album with album art, the artwork will appear in the player. At the moment, there's no option for an image for an individual track, so the 'project image' for your site will appear instead. I'll pass on the suggestion to the team for you though!

Great update, BZ. Question: Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not seeing a way to post to Facebook page? I can link to my personal FB, but can't seem to select my band page to post.

Team BZ- Just tried this. Copied the URL and pasted it into the status window on Facebook. It still pulls in the usual image, usual copy, etc. If I click through, it goes to a special page now with the new feature. Thoughts on why the player isn't showing up after posting the URL? Thanks!

MALIMBA RECORDS
Posted by MALIMBA RECORDS on Oct 9 2015 8:16 AM
Yes this is good BUT... the player needs to show an obvious link to go back to the purchase album page - NOT to the home web site page - especially for a site with 50+ pages like mine!

@MALIMBA RECORDS, thanks for the feedback! I've sent that over to the team for you.

So HOW do I embed?
Adam
Posted by Adam on Oct 9 2015 5:19 PM
@Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue - if you're looking to display a player to a track or album somewhere other than Facebook or Twitter, provided where you want to share allows you to add HTML code, you can. In your Music feature, click the 'share' button for either your album or track and click the 'embed code' option. You can then copy the code provided there and paste it into the source of another site. For example, blogs like Tumblr have an 'HTML' button when you add a post (in the Bandzoogle blog feature text editor, this is called the 'source' button). In a tumblr post, if you click the HTML button in the text editor, you can then paste the player embed code right into the post source, and once published, the player will display in the blog. If you have any other questions about this, don't hesitate to contact us directly in support via the 'help' tab of your account, and we'll be happy to help you further!

Hi, thanks for this feature. I wanna +1 on the branding and add that we need better SINGLE integration. Since BZ treats each one of my singles as an Album, when I try to use this feature, I posted the image from the last single. (which the site thinks is the "album". So, currently I can't use it at all. Just a simple click when uploading for single vs album would be great for many different reasons.

Thanks for making this new music player! Yes, I too would like the player un-branded and a link back to the player's page, not the homepage. I'd prefer, as well, if this new, very pretty player was the default player -- I like the big graphics.

Love the player I would like to see a rewind and fast forward button because I use the player for podcast. Also option to make the player a rectangle instead of just a square.

is there a full player with all the songs in it, rather then just 1 tune in the embedded player? It would be nice to embed a player that showcases all our tunes in one place.
Allison S
Posted by Allison S on Mar 4 2016 8:59 AM
@Ronnie LeBlanc - You can set the Music player to show the full track list by going to that Music feature (in the Pages tab), then click the Options link to the left and set it to Track list, instead of Music player (which is a compact player.) If you need more help please email us from the HELP tab. Thanks!

I wish I could use the players, but branding to Bandzoogle would be too confusing to our fans. We need to control our brand, or the players are useless.
