New Theme Engine, Plus 2 Great New Themes Added!

Big, big news on the design front. Dave just launched a new theme engine for Bandzoogle, opening the door to more modern, more complex, and more customized looking sites.

Until today, our themes had a "formula" that designers had to work around.  This was due to the limitations of the old theme engine, which powered Bandzoogle sites for many years.  While it worked well, it made it so that Bandzoogle sites shared a similar layout and style.

All of that has changed -- with the new theme engine, our designers can now build any style they can dream up, without limitations.

We just launched two clean, modern themes that take advantage of some of these new features.

Here's Primer, the first new theme. It has a full width header area:

And, here’s Dusted. It’s our first theme that features a full width background area, which you can also turn into a background image slideshow!

You'll notice some new features with these themes:

  • They have a site-wide "my sites" feature right in the header.
  • They're fully responsive, meaning they perfectly adapt to fit any size screen from desktop to tablet to phone.
  • They expand your band photo (and logo) to fit the space available, unlike older themes that were fixed in width.

You'll also notice that we added a brand new theme chooser, which makes it easier to scan through our designs:

This is a huge update, but it is just a small part of what is coming over the next few months.  Our system now has the flexibility to build some awesome themes. What's more, this will translate into more design options for you to customize your sites in the future.

Stay tuned to this blog as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages, we have a lot more in store!

HAVANA ROCKS: The biggest requests we were getting from members was for more simple designs. But we'll be rolling out lots of new themes over the next few weeks.

If you use a custom style and try one of the new site styles would you be able to go back to your custom site or would you have to start again. Thanks Steve

I'm still concerned about the calendar shortcomings. Will you ever make it so I can express a repeating gig as on (for example) every Saturday, or every 1st Tuesday, or every other Wed? Currently if I host a jam session on every Sunday I have to redo the listing each and every week, it's a major hassle and a major flaw for a website catering to musicians.
