New: Automatic inventory tracking for your band merch

Great news if you’re selling physical items (CDs, vinyl, merch, tickets): you can now set "in stock" quantities and manage your inventory in the Store feature!  

More and more artists are selling limited-edition items like signed albums and posters, or even a one of a kind, hand crafted items. Now you can set a quantity of items to be "in stock" and you won’t need to worry about someone trying to purchase an item after it sells out. It also works well for things like tickets with a limit number of seats available.

Whenever a fan purchases an item from your store, the inventory will automatically decrease. When there are no items left, it will display as “out of stock” on your website and you’ll know it’s time to reorder.

And as always, with our Store feature you get to keep 100% of your sales!

Inventory tracking is a PRO feature, a plan that includes other awesome stuff like album pre-orders, selling PDFs and videos, sale pricing, and creating unlimited download codes.

How it works

  • In the Pages tab, click add feature, and select “Store”, or select an existing Store feature in your pages.

  • Click add product, and choose to create a new product, or add an existing one

  • Set Track Inventory to Yes, and enter the number of items you have available in stock.

  • If you have variations of your product available, you can also track the amount of stock available for each variation.

  • Click Save.

It’s that simple. Once you sell out of something, simply update the inventory for the item in your Store when you have new items available.

I have been a Bandzoogle customer for a handful of years now. This has been practically my only suggestion for the site and the store for a long time. If you read through the forums like I did, I really felt like I was one of the few if not only customer's saying much of anything regarding this (in my eyes) clearly mandatory feature for anyone with an online business in this day and age. I'm not generally a vocal identity online, but I've felt since day one that if someone clicks on something they see in a store online, they expect it to be available, obviously! I feel almost vindicated to read this announcement. Perhaps someone read my pleas. Or perhaps "you" just realized how much a necessity this should have always been for a website that has a store. I don't have a "big site". I've always payed the extra $5 a month for the Standard plan over the Lite plan ONLY to have the option of selling physical products. I don't need unlimited file storage. I don't need 25 pages. Once again, I'm clearly not a big site. What I need is a store that works. It truly is disappointing that this simple feature has only been placed under a "PRO" plan. I understand that you want to set your product offerings apart. This should not be involved. I kindly ask that you include this stock list (number box) on all stores. In short, it will make customers happy and the Bandzoogle brand better. I've been touting Bandzoogle for a long time. To finally see this code added to the mix is great. To see I would need to dish out another $5 every month is simply upsetting and I feel I deserve better from such a leader like Bandzoogle. We deserve better. I hope this message reaches someone who cares enough to follow through. I'd be happy to offer more input on the subject. Good day to you all.

MF Ruckus: After you sell some merch, just go to the item options in your store and update the inventory #'s from there.

Blake Lennon, We decided a while ago that, outside of the basic ability to sell music and merch, all advanced commerce features and options would be part of the Pro plan: download codes, video and ebook sales, sales pricing, pre-sales, now inventory management and, coming soon, Soundscan reporting (and more). Obviously we want more members to pick the Pro plan when they sign up and we want to keep giving members new reasons to upgrade. This allows us to keep growing the platform (themes, features, options) while keeping our pricing plans the same. Keep in mind also that we're one of the only providers who doesn't take a commission on your sales. i hope this clarifies why we made Inventory tracking a Pro only option. We plan to keep making the Pro plan and all our plans more valuable, and your comments and suggestions are what help us achieve that.

This is great. I have a request/recommendation. Can you add the ability to do differentiated pricing by product variation? I'd like to be able to set a base price for an item and then add fees as needed for select variations. Right now, I have to duplicate the item to have a different price which creates a cluttered look within the store and hinders a smooth customer experience. For example, on most pro sites, pricing of a shirt would show as $20 and then when you click the size drop down, you see that 2XL is +$5. I have the pro level account through bandzoogle and overall have had a great experience. Thanks for considering this upgrade!
