Here at Bandzoogle, we often talk about our really big feature developments, like when we launched fan subscriptions, or our Printful integration.
But we also know that a lot of the time, it can be the little adjustments that can make an impact for our members too - sometimes a good philosophy can be to keep things simple, even if they’re just improvements to make things a bit easier!
So here’s a few of the smaller updates that we’ve added recently that we think will make a difference for all our members.
Easier to add new pages
When we launched our ‘page types’ a few years ago, we worked really hard to make sure we could provide a lot of great preset page layouts to make it easier for our members to create new pages for their site.
To make things flow even better here, we’ve made some changes to the ‘new pages’ interface that let you easily select page types, and configure any new page with your site.
So now when you click ‘add a page’ in the Edit content > pages area, you’ll see all the page types organized into different ‘flydown’ categories. We start with the basics like a ‘blank’ page, but also provide a group for ‘common,’ ‘EPK’ and ‘special’ page types that you can choose from.
Just need a music page? You’ll find it in ‘common’ page templates. Can’t decide the style of EPK you want to set up? Just click the EPK flydown for a range of choices. Starting out with crowdfunding? Click the ‘special’ option and you’ll find it there.
Not only does this help you get the layout you want faster, it’ll involve a lot less scrolling in the long run.
File manager count
A lot of our members make a LOT of music, and are often keen to post that music to your sites to share with your fans and the world. Sometimes, you just want to know how much you’ve added so far - or maybe you want to make sure that you are within your plans track upload limits.
We’ve now added a quick way to check that in the file manager. In the Edit Content tab when you click Pages > File Manager > Music, the first thing you’ll see now is a count of the total number of tracks posted to your site! If you spot any duplicate tracks there, or want to cut down on the total, remove extra tracks or files directly there.
Same goes for photo galleries now too - in the file manager if you select the ‘photo galleries’ option you’ll see your image total at the top there.

Change page headers more easily
Our visual editor for editing site pages is pretty point, click, and go - and the same went for editing visual elements of your pages, particularly header images. However, we’ve also recently launched a bunch of really great looking templates, and some of them treat headers a little differently than our other designs.
Not all header spaces are the same - some are short, some are narrow, others take up all the space right behind everything!
The header image space is where you can make the biggest graphic impact for your visitors, so to make it easier for members, we’ve since added an easy access ‘edit header’ button in the theme editor.
If your design has a header image, just click that button in your page under edit content, and that will take you straight to the header editor where you can make and save your header changes.
Advanced text feature options
When it comes to text, especially with websites, keeping the formatting simple is usually the way to go.
Simple usually means your text is easier to read, and easier to write. Less fuss and muss makes for more accessible content - and we’ve maintained that philosophy with our text feature.
Plus Bandzoogle offers loads of features that you can add around your text content to make things with your pages and site more engaging.
But sometimes…well...you just want things to pop a bit more around your text.
So to help out for those times when you just have to have more, we’ve added an ‘advanced’ text editor that can get you that. When you click any text feature in a page now, in the format bar you’ll now see a ‘more’ button.
Click that button, and you’ll open up the advanced text editor, where you’ll have a lot more formatting options available to you.
So not only do you have the standard ‘bold’ or color options we provided before, you can even add images and embedded video (like from Youtube) within your text, set up tables, and if you’re code savvy, add your own custom code in the text feature space via the ‘source’ button.
Give ‘em what they want - cassettes!
There’s that saying, “what is old is new again.” There was a time a few years ago where many said that about vinyl, and now more vinyl is sold than CDs!
So now that vinyl is the new kid on the block again, word on the street is...cassettes are making a big comeback.
That’s right, that walkman you sold at the local pawnshop back in the day is now worth a small fortune on ebay, and cassette sales have made their way back and are close to the mainstream again.
A lot of our members were telling us they didn’t want to miss out on another golden nostalgic opportunity in music sales - so now when you set up an album for sale, either in a store feature, or as a format in a music ‘album’ feature, you can now select cassette as one of the format types available to sell on your site.
Account profile names and pronouns
Bandzoogle loves all our members, no matter how they identify - so we felt it was really important to include not only a new ‘name’ field in your account profile settings, but also a ‘pronoun’ option.
While this isn’t a publicly visible option on our members site pages, our support team can now refer to our members by their names and chosen pronouns when they reach out with questions or for help with their websites.
A new look for your stats
The ‘Reports’ tab is a very important element for a site - it can tell you a lot of things like if a promotional campaign is working, where people are most engaged on your site, and who’s buying or listening to your music.
We’ve recently given the ‘Reports’ tab in our member accounts a facelift, with cleaner lines and easier to read data. Want to use Google Analytics for your stats instead? No problem, we’ve also streamlined the connection process in the Reports settings, to make it even easier to get the data you need to get the most out of your site.
We know it’s often the smaller things that make all the difference - we’re working all the time to not only make really big features for musicians, but we’re always working to fine tune those smaller things that we know can make life easier when building and managing your pages.
Is there a smaller feature you’ve used recently that you can’t do without, or that really helped you while putting your site together? Tell us in the comments below!
