From reggae to rootsy folk, bluegrass and beyond, the Requiem template offers something for everyone. It features a large image at the top, a menu front and center, and plenty of room for content. From music to merch and more, this theme is easy to customize to suit your sound.
Let’s take a look at what this website theme offers to show off your band!
Music website design
With a simple template like Requiem, it’s easy and quick to alter a few options to make it look just right for your music.
Think about the image you’ve chosen, either the main image, or the ones you’ve added to your content. Pick out the main colors and use those as swatches to determine your website palette. This will give your website a cohesive, continuous look, from the font colors to the background.
Let’s say you have 3 or 4 main colors - once you’ve chosen them, they’ll appear in your color chooser for use on your website.
Whether you go boldly black and white, or choose softer colors, they should also reflect your style of music.
Choose your own header option
This template features a wide image that spans the top of your pages. By default, the Homepage has a tall version, and the inner pages have a shorter version. You can adjust the height on either, and swap out images to display a different image per page.
Try to choose an image that works well for you. It should bring across the kind of band or musician you are from just a glance. Be sure to use an image that works well for both desktop and mobile, without text built-in, and that’s not zoomed too close up.
Don’t have an image that fits just right at the top of your website? No sweat - with this theme, you can leave the header image behind and create a streamlined look without an image.
Look for a logo
Creating a logo is a little touch that will bring your branding together. You can set it in your menu bar, to the left side of the page. No logo? No problem - choose from the list of fonts to make a text logo that is easy to read, or upload your own custom font!
Add an image filter
One of quickest and best ways to give your band website a custom look is by adding a funky image filter. It steps your website up a notch with little work, and can make your image pop off the page.
Think again about the colors you’ve chosen, and try out different filters that work both with your image, and that portray your sound. You can set the filters in your Theme Designer and they sit over top of your image, making them easy to try and change any time.

Loading effects for a modern look
This website template includes a few subtle touches that make your design modern. The first is the option to have your image and menu fade in as your content loads. This is a stunning effect that makes your website design look professional.
This template also features parallax animation, making for a smooth scrolling effect as your fans look through your pages for your images, text, and music.
Make the menu work
This first thing to consider when creating a menu is which pages you’ll add. Each theme comes with pages set, and the name can be customized to suit you. You can also add or delete pages as needed.
[Preset Pages for your Music Website]
This theme looks best with 6-8 menu items. The main pages will sit nicely to the right hand side of your menu. You can always add subpages in addition to your main pages (for example, combine your Videos and Photos page into a Media main page). This will keep your menu uncluttered and easy for your visitors to find the content they’re looking for.
Then, choose the menu font and color. If you’re using a funky combination of colors, go for a fun font that’s a bit wild to make your menu stand out. If you have a more muted, subtle color palette going, look for a simple font to match it.
Finally, tweak the menu bar itself. Make it semi-transparent to sit over your image, or full color. For a solid flow, make your menu the same color as your background color.
Customize the content
To make sure your website design works, choose your background and content font colors in coordination with the rest of your look. You’ll want to choose a background color that’s simple and sits nicely behind your content.
Now for your font - we’ve added some simple and easy to read fonts as default for this template. You can keep those as is, or mix things up by selecting different ones. You can set feature titles in a different color and font as well.
Be sure to add a mix of images and text within your content area in columns and full-width sections to keep the page looking interesting.
On your Music page, for example, be sure to add some text about your music as well as your tracks. If your songs are combined with a cohesive website design, they are much more enticing to click on and listen to.
