A little bit to the left…

The most distinct element of the Nocturne template is its ‘floating’ left justified menu - when your site loads, this overlaps above your homepage header. When visitors scroll down to view content, it stays in place, with the content scrolling to the right of it.

The menu box in both variations defaults to opaque or slightly transparent, but this can be adjusted to fully transparent if you want to make the lines of your theme even simpler.

Also if you have a site wide player enabled, the player appears in the menu space, just below the title, and above the menu links. That way your visitors will always have easy access to your music, no matter where they navigate on your site!

Choices, choices, choices

While it looks great without any design adjustments, Nocturne provides some really great options for customization that will make your look stand tall above all others.  

For example, if you don’t want to go full screen with your homepage header image, you can adjust the height in the design controls to reduce the space it occupies overall, giving more room for your content below.

Also, you can apply filters over your header area to help the images or video you add there to either blend more with the color scheme you have going on, or pop off the page even more.

Finally, each variation provides an optional homepage animation to draw your visitors in, and content accents that separate your features. These not only looks great, but can increase or reduce spacing in your layout.

Get in on the action

As if Nocturne didn’t grab your visitors enough, you can also add a call-to-action header feature in both variations. This feature lets you showcase your new album, prompt visitors to get on your mailing list, or link to pages or events right at the top of your page.

The call-to-action has lots of customization options for color and opacity, and you can even set horizontal or vertical justification for it in the header to get your visitors’ attention without compromising your header imagery.

Your pages, your way

While the Nocturne website template has some unique design options, its clean lines make it a great choice for spacing content.

Even with the menu on the left, your music, events, and other features fit nicely in any column configuration. From a simple single column to a more ‘editorial’ look with three columns, you’ll have no trouble making your pages lay out in an exciting but legible way.

Of course with any website design, keeping your features simple and minimal as possible is best, with well contrasted font colors overtop of your variation. It not only helps your site look more organized, but it also helps to keep things easy to read for your visitors.
