Being a singer means you’re the cool one in your group of friends. People love you and you wow them with your vocal skills. But what about when you can’t be with people in person? This is where your own website comes in. Sure, you can use social media, but that is a supplement - not a replacement - for your customized singer website.
As a solo artist every career-building task falls on you. The thought of building a website on top of everything else can be overwhelming. But we’re here to help you! Start with our blog post, ‘How to Make a Website for your Music,’ and then check out these websites from our solo artist members for inspiration:
Your homepage is the star of the show. Make sure it stands out with a large distinct header image. Your image is your brand. You want visitors to get to know your face and associate it to your music.
The header image is also a prime area for fan engagement. Add a call-to-action (CTA) feature to get visitors to interact with your content. You can ask them to join your mailing list, buy your album, or purchase tickets to an upcoming show. When they click the CTA button it will lead them to the page or file that you select in the CTA settings
To make your Home page pop even more, add a video header. Adding a video of you performing shows off your personality. It also gives fans an idea of what’s in store if they attend your events. If you don’t have performance videos you can use an inventive video like singer-songwriter Tim Korry does. This innovative video shows fans he is multi-talented.
People love a good story so give em one! Your About page is the place to let them know how you got started as a singer. Then take them through what you’ve done and where you’re going from here. You’ll also want to include any accomplishments or awards you’ve won or been nominated for.
Next to your bio you’ll want to place a few images of yourself. These should be downloadable high-resolution images. Fans might want to use them to share on social media, and industry folks can use them for interviews and blog posts. Plus images look nice next to the text on the page.
There’s nothing like the feeling of a packed house for your gig. Make sure people know about it with a shows page. Here you’ll add your show dates, times and locations. Using the Pro plan, you can even sell tickets directly through your website!
You can upload a customized show poster to make each show stand out. When clicked, that image will open a popup where fans can see the full event details. In addition to event-specific images you’ll want to add performance images to the page as well. This gives fans a peek at the energy of your shows.
The music page is where the magic happens. This is the place to upload all the songs you’ve recorded. You can sell both singles and albums, and provide free downloads as well. You also have the option to give away tracks in exchange for joining your mailing list. This is a great option to entice visitors to receive updates from you by email.
It’s great to provide some background information for each album. Details about the recording and what inspired the songs really give your fans insight into your creative process. Consider adding videos and other features to this page as well, to compliment the Music feature.
It’s becoming more difficult to profit only from song sales, so it’s important to be resourceful as a musician. An easy way to make extra money is by selling merch on your website. Start with something simple like stickers, hats, and autographed CDs. You can also work with an artist to come up with a cool design for t-shirts and hoodies. With our store feature you can add options for color and size. Offering a variety of items within a range of prices ensures there’s something for everyone.
With our Pro plan you can take advantage of even more options like sale pricing, discount codes, and inventory tracking. You can sell practically anything you want, and the best part is that we don’t take a cut of any of your sales!

If your website was all text it would be pretty boring. Having pictures takes your website from blah to wow! A photos page can be decked out with promo photos, candid shots, and performance images.
Adding a section for fan photos is fun as well. People love being recognized, especially with their favorite musician. Post shots from your show’s after party or album release event to make fans feel special. With our Instagram feature you can sync those shots onto your website as well.
Videos rank high in search results, so if you haven’t recorded any, make it a priority to do so. They don’t have to be full-length films. You can even post short clips of you in the studio, in a writing session, or behind the scenes on tour.
Video is easy to add from YouTube or Vimeo. Play counts on your website will count as plays on YouTube, so you won’t be missing out there either.
Electronic Press Kit
An often-overlooked website page is the electronic press kit (EPK). This is one page on your website that summarizes all the rest of the site content. It makes it easy for media professionals to see what you’re about at a glance. Industry folks may not take the time to look through all your site pages, so it’s important to provide a one-page overview.
We’ve made it easy to add an EPK to your website with our preset pages. With just a couple clicks you can set up a template of essential elements for your EPK. You can even protect the page with a password, if you want to restrict access to select visitors.
Your fans love you, so make sure they have a way to contact you. A custom form feature can provide them a place to leave their name, email, and message. Once they submit the form, you’ll receive a notification in your inbox. You can reply from your email account without having to log in to your website’s control panel. Adding another mailing list sign-up form to the Contact page is great, as well, to give fans one last encouragement to join your mailing list before leaving the website. The contact page is also the best place for social media accounts. This allows visitors to go from your website to your social media profiles in just one click.
