[How to design a great guitarist website]
First Impressions
The most important element to your guitarist website is you! A large header image showing you and your guitar is ideal. This gets people to associate you as a guitarist. As they see similar images around social media, they’ll remember you as a guitarist. Then when they need a guitarist for a gig or party, they’ll have you in mind.
Guitarist Kevin Williams has the right idea here with his nice bright header image.
His image is friendly, relatable, and shows the style of guitar he plays. He’s also added four other images making the header a slideshow. Our slideshow header has been an option for a few years but we recently added more controls to make it even better.
If you want to get real crazy you can even add a video header. It will add some motion to the page (without audio) to give your site a little extra something. This is the perfect spot to show you shredding on your guitar!

Guitar Focused
For the performing guitarist putting yourself in focus is important. For those who focus more on teaching, you can keep your header more subtle if you’d like.
This post shows how three sites look different using the same template, but here are three more as a bonus.
With a various images, a site wide music player or new font style, your site can look different in subtle ways.
With a guitar focused image in the header the site transforms into a more service oriented website. You can gain trust by having your image and story on the Bio or About page.
Color Counts
Another way to separate your site from the rest is with color. Jim Cobb does this with a colorful header image and custom logo.
In our theme editor you can use a header title or your own logo. Using your own logo is a great way to reinforce your brand. It also makes your name stand out. When you use the same logo on other sites, newsletters and flyers it gets people to recognize you by your name/logo.
You can also spice up your pages by using color in your content area. Our customization options allow you to change font color, background color and menu color.
We’ve even added styled sections to our toolbox. This new option allows you to add full width containers to hold different pieces of content. The variation takes our guitarist website templates to a whole other level.
Layout
People visit to learn about you, but when they get to your site you want it to be a pleasant experience. To do this you’ll want to pay attention to the small details like font style, ease of navigation, and layout.
Classical guitarist Michael Kolk does a fantastic job organizing his site content. With our tools you can use a two or three column layout. You can even set up a sidebar look (left or right) to add small updates like new songs or latest news.
Columns and sections are available on any page. This allows you to get creative and make each page have a distinct look of it’s own.
Bring it Together
You’ve seen six different guitarist sites here, but the Vesper template is just one of the many templates we have available. Some of our other themes have even more customization options. You’ll find image filters (think Instagram), call-to-action headers, and header height toggle options.
You can get even more inspiration by checking out Website Design Inspiration: Best Guitarist Websites, our blog and examples page as well. When you have an idea of the look you want, give it a try.
