Over the last few months, we’ve added lots of additional functionality to current features to make building your website a little easier. Here’s a rundown of the recent updates.
Image and text button
The image and Text feature is one of the best ways to design a stylish layout within your content area. We’ve added a little update here that works in every display format - a button!
To use it, add an Image and Text feature within your content area. In the sidebar, you’ll see an option that says ‘Button link’. Flip the menu option to choose an external page, one of my pages, a file, an email address, an album, or a track. This will create a button for you. When clicked, the button will take your visitor to another page, or allow them to download an album, for example.
Once you’ve selected where the button will go, add text into the Button text field. This is a great way to highlight upcoming shows, a new album, a video, or to get people to contact you.
Header editing controls
It’s important to get your header image to look just right. To help with this, we’ve added a few updates to the header controls.
To start, the header height control is now directly accessible in the header editor, to make it easier to see on its own. There’s also an added quick preview from desktop to mobile here.
Set your focal point, and you can switch to the mobile height option quickly, then adjust that as well. This will display the appropriate control depending on whether it’s the landing (home) page, or an inner page.
Finally, the zoom and save options are in the sidebar as well, to streamline the whole header editing process.
Additional Call-to-Action controls
The call-to-action option is a popular way to draw attention to an upcoming release, new video, or event. To fine-tune it even more, a few new options have been added. These are located in the Theme Editor sidebar.
Adjust the heading, subheading and description text with font size and line-height controls. You can also style the call-to-action button shape and style independently of all other buttons on your website.
If you’re using the mailing list signup option as your call-to-action, you can also style the text description by changing the font type, style, and size, as well as the line height, letter spacing, or setting it to uppercase.
New My Sites icons
Based on popular suggestions, we’ve added several new preset icons to the My Sites feature. They’re available to use per page, or in the site-wide My Sites feature.
The new icons include: Cashapp, Paypal, TikTok, Twitch, and Venmo.
In the per page My Sites feature, you can adjust the display size and alignment directly as well.
Calendar feature: venue url and live streams
There are a couple of new additions to our calendar feature. Included with every event is a new Location URL field. Add in the website address for the venue where you’re playing at to make it easy for visitors to click through and check it out.
Other new fields in the events feature include a Live Stream link and Live stream information. If you’re playing a live stream, this is the perfect place to include your Zoom link or Facebook page. You can even sell tickets to your live stream shows to generate some revenue.
Quote feature sizing
The quote feature is a great tool to display text about you or your music from an authoritative source. Use the sizing options to mix things up on your EPK page or bio. Add your quote, author, source, and source link url if applicable. Then choose the display format: large, medium, or small. Your quote text will adapt nicely within a column or row.
So there you have it. Lots of little updates to give these features a bit of love, and we hope that you’re able to make good use of them.
