Bandzoogle Names Stacey Bedford New CEO

September 14, 2018 - Musician website platform Bandzoogle has promoted Stacey Bedford, an 11-year veteran at the company, to CEO. Hired in 2007 as Bandzoogle’s only support technician (and third staffer overall), Bedford has helped lead the company to record growth. Currently approaching its 15th year of operations, Bandzoogle now powers over 36,000 websites for musicians, who have sold more than $36 million in music and merch commission-free through the platform. Founder Chris Vinson will continue with the company in his ongoing role as Chairman.

Bedford now leads a team of over 25 employees, who are mostly musicians themselves and all work remotely with no central office, a testament to her technological and organizational skills as well as her commitment to work-life balance. After working her way up to Head of Support, Bedford was named COO of Bandzoogle in 2014. In this role, she established the company structure that has seen the 100% remote team double its productivity and launch a record number of new tools for musicians in recent years, all without increasing the price of the subscription service. These tools include SoundScan reporting for music sales, new features to help musicians sell more music and merch, and a complete revamp of the platform’s design tools. Bedford has also overseen new Bandzoogle partnerships with SOCAN, Mixcloud, Airbit, and Audiomack.

“Bandzoogle is a company that not only values its customers but also its employees, and I aim to carry that tradition forward as CEO,” said Bedford. “As a mother of three, I know the importance of work-life balance and will work hard to ensure that we are always growing our people rather than just our company.”

“Stacey has been one of our best employees ever since she joined us over 10 years ago as one of our first hires,” said Vinson. “I’m proud that our new CEO will be someone who came up through the ranks at Bandzoogle and understands our mission and culture. Our users can expect many great things to come as we move into our 15th year.”

Bedford resides in Ottawa, Canada, with her family. She holds a BA in Economics from Carleton University and is an avid guitar player who has been playing since the age of 14. For more information on Bandzoogle, visit www.bandzoogle.com.
