During the COVID-19 pandemic, many musicians have been looking at live streams as a way to reach their fans while they’re unable to tour. As the days stretch into weeks, finding ways to monetize those live streams is becoming increasingly important.
With this in mind, we’ve updated our ticketing options so that you can now sell tickets commission-free to live streaming events - directly through your website.
Normally a Pro plan feature, ticket sales will be available on all plans, to all Bandzoogle members during the pandemic.
How to start selling tickets to live streams
To start selling tickets, you’ll create an event, add the time, date, description and any other details about your live stream show.
You can also add the url and password for your live stream. Once a ticket is purchased, that information will be sent automatically to the buyer.
Set up a live stream event on your website
To keep things organized, add a calendar feature exclusively for your live stream events. Enter the time and date, then add your live stream link and information. You can use platforms like Zoom or Crowdcast to create a live stream, for example.
Once you have the link and password, fill out the Live stream link and Live stream information fields.
If you would rather drive people back to your website, set up a password-protected page. Add the full page url (mywebsite.com/livestream, for example) as the live stream link, and the password. You can add the live stream video link to your page in a Video feature using platforms like Crowdcast or Vimeo, for example.

Sell tickets to your live stream
Once you make a sale, the live stream information is sent to the purchaser directly on their e-ticket.
You can sell tickets to a group of people like a virtual house concert - from your home to theirs, or reach out via your mailing list to let fans know you have upcoming live stream dates.
Add the price for your tickets, and track inventory if you want to limit the number of sales.
As with all of our e-commerce features, selling tickets through your website is 100% commission-free, forever. That means all revenue goes directly to you.
We hope you’re able to put on shows right from your own home, and generate some revenue with this new ticketing update.
