Add organization to your pages by creating a consistent footer area along the bottom of your website.

The site-wide footer section can include different features such as text, a contact form, or social media icons. It can be set to use multiple columns and styled to match your website.

How to add features to the site-wide footer section on your website

  1. From the 'Edit Content' tab, click 'Pages' and open any page
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  3. Click 'Add footer feature'
  4. Select a feature to add
  5. To add another feature: hover your cursor over the footer section and click 'Edit columns'
  6. Click on the section layout you'd like to use to split the footer into columns
  7. Click 'Add footer feature' in the empty column(s)

Which features can be added to your site-wide footer section

Not all features are supported within the site-wide footer. If they can't be added, the feature will be grayed out in the feature chooser.

The following features can be added to the site-wide footer section:

  • Title
  • Text
  • Image
  • Button
  • Quote
  • Video
  • Photo Gallery (default display: slideshow)
  • Calendar
  • My Sites
  • HTML Code
  • Single
  • Compact Player
  • Store (default display: grid, 1 item)
  • Donation
  • TipJar
  • Custom Form
  • Poll
  • Mailing List Signup Form
  • X (previously Twitter)
  • GigSalad Quote Form
  • GigSalad Review
  • File List

Note: You can add social media icons by adding a 'My Sites' feature. Your template may also support site-wide 'My Sites' at the bottom of your footer area. If so, those would be placed outside of the site-wide footer section.

How to style the site-wide footer section

You can update the look of the site-wide footer feature any time. These changes will apply to all of your website's pages.

  1. From the 'Edit Content' tab, click 'Pages' and open any page
  2. Scroll to the bottom of your page
  3. Click on 'Edit Site-Wide Footer section'
  4. You can adjust the following settings to you liking in the 'Section Properties' panel:
    • Title: Add a section title.
    • Show title: Toggle on to display the section title or off to hide it.
    • Show in menu: Toggle on to display the section title as a link in your navigation menu.
    • Section title alignment: Set to 'Left', 'Center', or 'Right'.
    • Section colors: Select 'Section Style 1', 'Section Style 2', or 'Section Style 3'.

      Note: You can customize your section styles in the 'Edit Theme' tab

    • Background image: Click 'Add image' to upload an image to be displayed in the section background. You can assign the following settings to the image:
      • Scroll effect: Set to 'Normal', 'Parallax', or 'Fixed'
      • Image transparency: Adjust the slider to set the transparency level.
    • Section padding: Set to 'None', 'Extra small', 'Small', 'Medium', 'Large', or 'Extra Large'.
    • Make section full height: When toggled on, the section will fill the available height in the browser window.
      • Content vertical alignment: Set to 'Top', 'Center', or 'Bottom'.

You can also adjust the column options for your site-wide footer section. To edit the columns:

  1. From the 'Edit Content' tab, click 'Pages' and open any page
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  3. Hover your cursor over the section and click 'Edit columns'
  4. Choose from the column options:
    • 1 Column: full width of the content area (100%)
    • 2 Column: two equal columns (50% - 50% split)
    • 2 Column left sidebar: two columns with the smaller side on the left (33% - 66%)
    • 2 Column right sidebar: two columns with the smaller side on the right (66% - 33%)
    • 3 Column: three equal columns (33% - 33% - 33% split)
