Musician Website Love: Whistle for Swift

Every week, we highlight one of our favorite websites on Bandzoogle.

Who: Whistle for Swift
What: Instrumental loop-rock
Where: Fort Worth, Texas
Why their website rocks: We love the simplicity of Whistle for Swift’s website. With a custom designed header image on a white background, along with nice font and color choices, this is a great looking site. Plus the simple, well-organized navigation menu and a great Homepage with latest news, mailing list sign-up, and a featured video, just gives us more reasons to love this site!

Nice looking website. Good music too! Is there a reason you have to go to Spotify to listen to it? Just wondering why they didn't use the players available through Bandzoogle. If there's a marketing benefit to doing it that way maybe we should all do that. (?)

@Dave - Thanks for the love! It's nice to know that the hard work that went into the site was worth it!

@Sandy - Thanks for the compliments regarding my music! I'm glad you asked about the Spotify player, also! I'm actually really torn about using it at the moment. The reason I've decided to stay with it, however, is that many people use Spotify as their main music player (and quite a few pay to use it as a subscription service).

If you've ever used Spotify (or even if you don't), you'll often get updates on Facebook as to who is using it and what they're listening to. For example, you'll see something like... "John Smith just listened to Rolling in the Deep by Adele" It's shared with all of their friends on their news feeds. Ideally, someone would see that a friend just listened to Whistle for Swift!

In addition (and I may have half information regarding this) the more plays I get on Spotify, the better Spotify is able to match like music to mine. Once they have determined what similar artists fans enjoy, my music will then become "station eligible". So (in theory), if someone is listening to a station of a similar artist (think Pandora), my music would be played and brought to new listeners.

Another reason to consider using Spotify (though it's hardly a reason at all), is that it's a pay per stream site. So, if you're distribution partner places you on Spotify, you will hypothetically receive FRACTIONS OF A PENNY every time you get a listen! Haha -- we'll all be rich in no time!

Granted, I don't work for Spotify... so I'm just gathering this information from elsewhere on the web. But it makes sense.

But because not everyone uses Spotify, I also included the Bandcamp player below the Spotify player.

I hope all that makes some sense!
