Facebook integration added!

Another time-saver added to the control panel. When you post an event or blog entry, you can have it update your Facebook wall! Now, you only need to enter stuff once to let ALL your fans know about it.

You'll find the connection to Facebook in the new "promote" link beside any event or blog post. We've also moved the Twitter posting to that window so you can both tweet and update Facebook in seconds.

Enjoy!

Will this post to our band "fan" page or my personal page? It would be great if you could do both, our first choice would be our band "fan" page though.

I am curious to know if we'll be able to automatically update Facebook or myspace that changes have been made to your site just like it does on myspace when you change anything, it let's people know. I think it would be nice for us to upload new pics, music, blogs etc and it notifies all of our friends on Myspace,Facebook, Twitter at the same time.

lovewhip - yes, you can choose which page you want it to update to. you will see the options when you click the promote link in the Events or Blog feature.

DJ A - thanks for the suggestion. this is something we already have on our list to look into further. Smile

DJ Avelanche : Myspace is the next network on our list! We added Facebook and Twitter in the last couple weeks.

Chris,

Where is this found (the Facebook "update") ? - I posted something, verified it, but didn't find the section whereby I could upload the post
to my Facebook.com account.

it works fine now! Thanks. Nevertheless the updates of the RSS feed for the myspace blog did not update automaticaly. I had to update it manually. Do you experience the same problem?

Hey,

Is the Facebook feature under maintenance or something? I hit publish and it doesn't really seem to do anything. Twitter works great,
though.

Chris
October 11, 2009

Chris: when you press publish it should pop up a window that connects you to facebook. Make sure you don't have pop up blockers enabled, or just allow the window if it gets blocked.

If you continue to have trouble, email us in HELP.

thanks!

Thank you! You guys do a great job of making this service way worth the money. And lets talk about money. Really where can you find service like this for this kind of money? I have an email service for designing your emails (to make them more professional) that costs me $35.00 a month each month that's just for emails! Here I get everything I need plus hosting for less than $20.00 a month. So what I'm trying to say is... You guys rock!Wink

I do not get an option to choose the page I want to post to... it simply allows me to login to my account, but there is no way to direct it to my
band page as opposed to my personal. this is really frustrating... and facebook is entirely unhelpful. (personally I loath facebook, largely
because it really limits your abilities to do simple things like display a link to your band page in your profile, or move an event to a different
page). help???

perhaps i am missing something, (i do that often), i posted a blog, just to try this out, and when i clicked on promote the window came up
with twittier, facebook, and myspace. I clicked on the facebook button, and nothing happened. I tried yesterday, tues. the 14th, and i just
tried again now, and still nothing...anyway, if somebody gets a chance to respond to this, let me know if i'm doing something wrong, or if
maybe the system is temp. down Smile thanks!

Hey guys,

FYI... I think the Facebook linkup works through Firefox and Internet Explorer but not through Safari.

Twitter and Myspace work all around, though.

Thanks Chris Fuller, Admins Allison, Chris, Colin and whoever else has been working on this! I still have yet to get Safari to co-operate with me, but thanks to Chris Fuller's suggestion and a new Firefox update, I have been able to successfully navigate my way to updating the correct page on Facebook... I am using a MacBook, so if anyone else is having this issue from Macs, download Firefox3 and you will be able to do what you want to. I know it stinks having to use multiple browsers, but it sure beats leaving your fans uninformed, or (just as bad?) telling grandma exactly what you will be doing next Saturday!

Allison
October 19, 2009

Hey guys & gals - thanks for the update. we are looking into the Safari issue now. In the interim, it is best to use Firefox for the 'promote' option.(http://www.getfirefox.com)

This is fantastic.

If it's not on your (long, I'm sure) list of things to add, having photos that you post to a Photo Gallery get uploaded to a Facebook album as well (including the captions) would be an awesome addition. Smile

Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

Guys,

Now I can't seem to get Firefox to connect to Facebook when I try to promote a show. I've tried Safari, Firefox, and IE and none of them want to work with Facebook.
