Bandzoogle at the New Music Seminar - 5 free admissions to give away!

Hey there Bandzooglers ! Both Chris and I will make the trip down to Los Angeles, Feb. 14-16 for the New Music Seminar. We'll be there to meet lots of musicians and hang out with other music industry experts (and some wannabes, too, no doubt !). Chris will give an 18 min. not-to-be-missed presentation entitled "Your Music is Your Art. Your Website is Your Business". The both of us will also take part in the Bandzoogle Sponsored Mentorship Session and talk to small groups of artists about "The Musician's Sales Funnel", and how to optimize your web presence to get more loyal fans and earn more revenue.
We bullied the organizers into giving us 5 complimentary admissions to the New Music Seminar, so if you're in Southern California and want to attend, act quick. We'll give them to the first 5 Bandzooglers that say something nice about us on Twitter (@bandzoogle), or on our Facebook page. If too late, read below for a not-so-secret-anymore code to get 2 for 1 on admissions.

Here's the official blurb, hopefully see you there !:

Are you looking to get signed as an artist? Come see the Presidents of the Indies and Major Labels explain how! Are you looking to make more money as an artist, manager, label or agent? See the 22-18 minute presentations from the CEO’s of the top companies explain how! Visit one on one with 24 mentors at the NMS Mentoring Sessions or the Songwriting, Voice and Producer’ Workshops, and find for your next business partner. Then network with over 80 of the top CEO’s and others speaking over 3 nights and 2 days at the New Music Seminar in Los Angeles February 14-16.

For the complete schedule go to and register with your 2 for 1 discount code by entering secret code NMSLABZGL2375 when you select the Partner’s tab under the registration page. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to take your career the next level.

Bandzoogle is hiring !

Oh my. We took so many new year's resolutions that it seems we'll need to expand the Zoogler family. If you happen to be, or if you know someone who is a software developer that has mad skills using the Ruby on Rails framework, send them over to the full job post here.

This a pretty sweet gig. As you all know, we spend our days building and upgrading great tools to help indie musicians have a website that rocks, and an online presence that helps them achieve their goals. If you love music, this is extremely motivating and rewarding. We are upgrading our whole platform and we have a pretty full roadmap of new features to build and even ideas for new platforms and products. We don't have an office, so everyone on the team works from where they love to be, which means we need folks that are very self-motivated, can take responsibilities and be autonomous, while having strong communications skills (we skype a lot).

Bandzoogle is growing quickly, always profitable and fiercely independant, so we're in this for the long run. Apply within !

Things To Watch In The New Year

One of my favorite things to do around New Year is look at all the predictions from experts and pundits for the upcoming year. The best one I've seen this year is 100 Things To Watch in 2011, by marketing firm JWT. It covers a broad spectrum, from tech, to design, to science and even mentions tube-free toilet paper (Yes. Finally !). Only a few items are directly related to music, but lots relate to marketing and branding (and your band is your brand !), and either way it makes for a fun and smart read that might inspire some new music.

On the Bandzoogle front there are probably even more than 100 things to watch for 2011 and we will be able to talk about many of them soon. The major upgrade we've been working on is well under way. It will make Bandzoogle even more flexible and easy to use, and, backstage, it will allow us to develop new features and improvements at a much faster rate. Now's a good time to tell us your ideas, requests and wildest wishes in the "suggestion box" section of the community. We are also working on some cool hand-picked partnerships to give you access to even more services and features from your Bandzoogle hub. Stay tuned.

So, from the whole Bandzoogle team, thank you for your trust, Happy New Year, and warm wishes of health, happiness, amazing tunes... and websites that rock !
